Customers’ Requirement:

Guarding to protect from electrical hazard during testing of high voltage transformers after manufacture, before dispatching to customer.

Required guarding to be safe and secure during testing, but be completely removable when not in use to allow free access to load and unload generators from test area.

How we got there:

• Manufactured custom ZONE guarding on portable wheel corners.
• Allowing extension from fully extended straight position to secure right angle with use of wheel corners to stop further contraction.
• Fortress trapped key interlocks were used to interlock two mobile bi-folds guard sets to each other, creating a square cell.
• Cell access was controlled via isolator and key-exchange units.
• Tower lights with sirens were installed high on top of the mobile guards proving visual and auditory indication of status of testing process; providing additional safety indication and warning to operators and personnel.
